IN-AWE: Gold - Two Categories
MicroMass captured two gold IN-AWE honors for its A.I.R. (Asthma Information Resources) Program created for Merck’s Singulair® brand to increase adherence with prescribed treatment among asthma patients. The top awards were in the “Consumer Print/Direct Mail” and the “Medical/Patient Education” categories. Sponsored by the Healthcare Communication and Marketing Association (HCMA), the International Awards of Excellence (IN-AWE) are among the healthcare advertising and marketing industry’s most prestigious honors.

DTC National Advertising Awards: Silver
MicroMass claimed silver in the category of Best Point-of-Care Campaign. The award was for the Renal Dietitian Tool Kit, developed for Shire in support of Fosrenol® (lanthanum carbonate), a phosphorous-lowering medication for patients with end-stage kidney disease who are undergoing dialysis. DTC Perspectives Magazine sponsors the awards in honor of creative excellence and marketing effectiveness in direct-to-consumer advertising.

MM&M Awards: Gold, Best Use of Direct Marketing to Consumers
MicroMass received top honors at the 2008 MM&M Awards, winning gold in the category of “best use of direct marketing to consumers” for a campaign created for Merck’s Singulair® brand to increase compliance with prescribed treatment among patients with asthma. Jay Bigelow, president of MicroMass, was honored by PharmaVOICE magazine as one of the 100 most inspiring and influential people in the life sciences industry. Editors affirmed Bigelow as an industry thought leader behind applying behavioral science to the way pharma develops relationships with patients and professionals. Pharmaceutical Executive magazine:  2008 Ad Stars agency
MicroMass was recognized as an “Ad Stars” agency by the editors of Pharmaceutical Executive magazine. The magazine showcased the campaign MicroMass developed for Shire’s Fosrenol® (lanthanum carbonate), a phosphorous-lowering medication for people with kidney disease. Selections were based on “ads that made us stop and think, provided real education, reflected the needs of patients, educated in a material way, and were a good use of the medium.”
