Strategic Patient Adherence (SPA) Award: Best Integrated Campaign
Winning in the category of Best Integrated Campaign, Shire and MicroMass were honored for Fosrenol On Track, a program developed to ensure that patients comply and have access to Fosrenol® (lanthanum carbonate), a phosphorous-lowering medication for dialysis patients with end-stage renal disease.

ADDY Awards: Eight Awards
MicroMass wins five gold and silver local and district ADDY Awards for a pro-bono campaign created to build awareness of The Healing Place of Wake County, a rehabilitation program for homeless people dependent on drugs or alcohol. Another MicroMass campaign, Novartis' "Be Transfusion Smart; Be Iron Smart", received a gold, silver and bronze award. The ADDY Awards is a three-tiered competition sponsored by American Advertising Federation (AAF) through it's 200 local clubs and 15 district associations.

Web Health Awards: Silver
The Web Health Awards is a program that recognizes the best Wed-based health-related content for consumers and progressions - with the goal of providing a "seal of quality" for electronic health information. HandSurgeryNews.com, a Web site that provides surgeons, orthopedists, and plastic surgeons with the latest news in hand-related conditions, received a Silver Award in the Web Health Awards 2009 spring/summer program.

IN-AWE: Gold - Two Categories
MicroMass captured two gold IN-AWE honors for its A.I.R. (Asthma Information Resources) Program created for Merck’s Singulair® brand to increase adherence with prescribed treatment among asthma patients. The top awards were in the “Consumer Print/Direct Mail” and the “Medical/Patient Education” categories. Sponsored by the Healthcare Communication and Marketing Association (HCMA), the International Awards of Excellence (IN-AWE) are among the healthcare advertising and marketing industry’s most prestigious honors.

The magazine showcased the campaign MicroMass developed for Shire’s Fosrenol® (lanthanum carbonate), a phosphorous-lowering medication for people with kidney disease. Selections were based on “ads that made us stop and think, provided real education, reflected the needs of patients, educated in a material way, and were a good use of the medium.”
